Measurements: Rail Noise and Vibration Levels
Rail noise and vibration levels may be measured to:
- Determine external noise levels and frequency spectra for acoustic design of buiding facade components (windows, walls, doors and roof/ceiling) for planning development applications and detailed acoustic design.
- Validate/calibrate computer noise prediction models for new rail corridors, residential or commercial developments.
- Assess acceptibility of train ground vibration levels.
